BREEDERS SUSPENDED BY AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB

2 of the puppies for sale in True Breeders are "English mastiffs" - their store identification card states they were bred by Stephen and Teresa Holsey in Oklahoma (see previous post about Oklahoma breeders!!!)

The Holsey's were fined and suspended in 2009 by the American Kennel Club Management Disciplinary Committee. On April 13, 2009, the Holsey's were fined $2500 for:
- non-compliance with AKC record keeping and dog identification
- non-compliance with the AKC’s Care and Conditions Policy (which includes unacceptable conditions, dogs and/or facility)
Their AKC privileges were suspended for 5 years (effective April 13, 2009 through April 13, 2014)

In addition to Mastiffs, the Holsey's are listed by the AKC as "breeders" of Wire Fox Terriers and Miniature Schnauzers.

NOTICE:
The AKC's Management Disciplinary Committee has suspended the following individuals from all AKC privileges for five years, effective April 13, 2009, and imposed a $2500 fine for non-compliance with AKC's record keeping and dog identification requirements, and non-compliance with the AKC's Care and Conditions Policy (unacceptable conditions, dogs and/or facility:
Mr. Steve Hosley (Tulsa, OK) Mastiff
Ms. Teresa Holsey (Tulsa, OK) Wire Fox Terrier, Mastiff and Miniature Schnauzer

You can read the entire AKC suspension report here http://www.akc.org/pdfs/about/secretary_page/0509.pdf

Teresa Holsey ALSO sells her dogs on the internet (perhaps to individuals OR puppy stores??) and has a listing for a mastiff here

MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION BEFORE BUYING A PUPPY FROM A PET STORE!!!!

  1. And as of today, when I visited the store, I was told the mastiff's have kennel cough. They were not in the front of the store, but many other pups were, including a very skinny rottweiler pup.

  3. Come see True Breeder puppies delivered by an 18 Wheeler! Didn't know breeders chose that mode of transportation to have their dogs delivered for sale. I guess people have more choices if there is a truck load to select from!

  4. The puppies were delivered to "True Breeders" by a controversial Midwest puppy mass marketer that sells from breeders in the largest puppy mill states. A photo exists showing the clandestine delivery. "True Breeders" had claimed their sources were local Connecticut.

  5. Latest development (Saturday 3/6/2010).... True Breeders is under quarantined for 2 weeks due to parvo. Apparently one of the puppies purchases at True Breeders died of parvo. So please do not believe the current sign that says "closed for 10 days for renovation". NOT THE CASE!! THEY ARE CLOSED BECAUSE THEY ARE QUARANTINED!!

  6. Why would you need to "renovate" a brand new shop? How stupid are people that they would believe that rubbish?

The state closed them for parvovirus. http://ridgefield.patch.com/articles/true-breeders-quarantined-for-parvovirus
I'm sure the puppies that were exposed will be destroyed.

Good luck trying to kill that bug; it's a nasty one. If people insist on buying from that shop, they'd better be very, very careful.

  7. What a looser you tell everyone that your dogs come from local breeders and all along you are getting them from puppy mills. Thats what happens when yuo lie to people you will at some point be found out. I hope you fail and you close down real soon you are a looser and will be out of buisness soon Ms. Dicarlo

  8. Bought a puppy from this place and when I took it to my Vet I had to spend several hundred dollars to make it well. The puppy had kennel cough as well as other health issues. I urge anyone who is thinking of buying here to go elsewhere. The owner Christine Dicarlo is nothing but a money hunry lier. I dont know how she can look herself in the mirror at herself or how she can look anyone in the eye.
